African icons have done great things for Africa apart from just being great inspirations. Here are three most powerful iconic Africans of 2021 to admire.

DANIEL KALUUYA


Daniel Kaluuya was born on 24 February 1989 and is a British actor and former writer but Ugandan African as well. He has achieved exceptional stardom in the film industry, making him a great icon and inspiration for the youth in Africa. Kaluuya began his acting career as a teenager in improvisational theatre. He subsequently portrayed Posh Kenneth in the first two seasons of the British television series Skinn where he also co-wrote some of the episodes. Kaluuya was particularly praised for his leading performance in Sucker Punch at the Royal Court Theatre in London and he won both the Evening Standard Award and Critics’ Circle Theatre Award for Outstanding Newcomer. In 2018, he received the BAFTA Rising Star Award.

SARAH MENKER


Ethiopia-born Entrepreneur and the CEO of Gro Intelligence Sara Menker is an amazing personality with the fact that she is powerful female in the world of business. Something few women in Africa have achieved.

Apart from being the boss of Gro Intelligence, a company which has developed the world’s most extensive agriculture data platform, Menker is a trustee of the Mandela Institute for Development Studies and was elected one of the World Economic Forum Young Global Leaders.

ABDEL FATTAH SAEED HUSSEIN KHALIL EL-SISI


Abdel Fattah was born on 19 November 1954 and is an Egyptian politician serving as the sixth and current president of Egypt since 2014. Currently Egypt is the richest and most powerful country in Africa. So Prickly Juice awards takes note of Abdel as a great African Icon today. He is a retired general, whi previously served as the director of Military Intelligence from 2010 to 2012. He served as the minister of Defence from 2012 to 2014, and deputy prime minister of Egypt from 2013 to 2014. He served also as the chairperson of the African Union from 2019 to 2020 making him a powerful man of influence.
